Queen Mary’s Dressing Room was constructed at Jolly’s Bath in 1934, adding a touch of royal elegance to the store. The room was designed to reflect the luxury and refinement associated with the British monarchy, and it became a notable feature of the store. The dressing room features three entrances so each lady-in-waiting could bring Queen Mary various items at once. The creation of this dressing room was part of Jolly’s ongoing commitment to providing a high-quality shopping experience for its customers, blending sophisticated design with an atmosphere of exclusivity. Queen Mary, the consort of King George V, was known for her keen interest in fashion, and the room, inspired by her tastes, was designed to accommodate the royal standard of style and comfort.
Over the years, it became a symbol of Jolly’s dedication to offering not just products but an experience worthy of royalty, solidifying the store’s reputation as a prestigious shopping destination in Bath.
Over more recent years The Queen Mary Room has been used to house various brands and departments.
We plan on continuing the legacy of Queen Mary's Dressing Room when Jolly's reopens in 2026
